JAMES HUGHES is a London-based menswear designer exploring the space between traditional tailoring and contemporary utility. Working through experimentation with silhouette, fabrication and construction, each collection reinterprets familiar garments into something unexpected. Classic menswear codes are disrupted through raw finishes, technical detailing and unconventional proportions, creating pieces that balance structure with spontaneity.

Inspired by everyday uniforms, industrial design, architecture and contemporary culture, the work challenges how clothing is worn, experienced and understood. Each project begins with research and develops through making, allowing process and material to influence the final outcome.
